- Rice400 g
- Sushi vinegar3 tbsp
- Edamame80 g
- Green shiso leaves4 sheets
- Ginger20 g
- Japanese pickled plum paste (Bainiku)1 tbsp
How to make
- Prepare. Cut off the stems from the green shiso leaves. Peel the ginger. Thaw the frozen edamame according to the instructions on the package and peel the thin skin from it.
- 1. Cut green shiso leaves into thin strips. Chop the ginger.
- 2. Put the rice and sushi vinegar in a bowl and mix together in a cutting motion.
- 3. Let it cool, add the shiso leaves from Step 1 and Japanese pickled plum paste (bainiku), and mix lightly.
- 4. Serve on a plate and it's done!
Tips for cooking
You can use a regular Japanese pickled plum (umeboshi) instead of the paste. You can use a sushi vinegar of your choice. Let the rice cool well before mixing the ingredients.
