- Egg whites2
- Light soy sauce1 tsp
- Egg yolk1
- (A)Water300 ml
- (A)Sake1 tbsp
- (A)Japanese style granulated soup stock1 tsp
- (A)Light soy sauce1 tsp
- Young green onion (Konegi)a pinch
How to make
- 1. Put the egg whites in a bowl and use a hand mixer to make a meringue until firm peaks form.
- 2. Add the egg yolk and light soy sauce into the bowl from Step 1 and mix with a rubber spatula gently so as not to crush meringue.
- 3. Heat ingredient (A) in a pot over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
- 4. When it boils, add the mix from Step 2, cover with a lid, and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes. When the meringue has hardened, remove from the heat.
- 5. Serve it in a bowl and sprinkle some young green onion (konegi) on top and it is ready!
Tips for cooking
You can adjust the amount of salt to your liking. For senior citizens, children under the age of 2, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems, please avoid eating raw eggs. This time we used light soy sauce so that it doesn't get too colored, but you can substitute it with dark soy sauce.
