How to make
- 1. Peel the hard root end in asparagus with a peeler, then slice diagonally into 2-inch pieces.
- 2. Add ingredients for the tempura batter in a bowl and mix to the point where lumps remain.
- 3. Add 1-inch depth of frying oil into a pot, and heat to 170°C (338°F).
- 4. Dip Step 1 into Step 2, add them in the frying oil, deep-fry until the surface becomes crispy, then drain off the oil.
- 5. Arrange Step 4 on a plate and garnish with salt and lemon to complete the dish.
Tips for cooking
Please adjust the amount of salt to your taste. The key is not to overmix the tempura batter. The texture will be crispier if you use colder powder or water.
