  • Sweet potato
    350 g
  • Water
    as needed
  • Tempura flour
    50 g
  • Water
    80 ml
  • Black ground sesame
    2 tbsp
  • Frying oil
    as needed
  • Rock salt
    a pinch

How to make

  1. Prepare. Pour 1-inch depth of frying oil into the pot, and heat to 180°C (360°F).
  2. 1. Cut the sweet potatoes into 0.4-inch strips, soak in water for about 5 minutes, and drain.
  3. 2. Mix the tempura flour, water, and black ground sesame well.
  4. 3. Dip Step 1 into Step 2, deep-fry in the frying oil at 180°C (360°F) until golden brown, serve it with rock salt on a plate, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

We used a sweet potato this time, but please use whatever kind you like. We used some black ground sesame for the color, but you can substitute it with some white ground sesame.
