Deep-Fried Tofu (Agedashi Tofu) in Mentsuyu Soup - Recipe Video

- Firm tofu200 g
- Starch2 tbsp
- Frying oilas needed
- Noodle Soup
- Water100 ml
- Noodle soup base (Mentsuyu)100 ml
- Toppings
- Grated daikon radish50 g
- Grated ginger1 tsp
- Nori seaweedas needed
How to make
- 1. Cut the firm tofu into 4 equal pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.
- 2. Spread starch on a tray, coat Step 1 evenly, and dust off any excess powder.
- 3. Pour 1-inch depth of frying oil into a pot, heat to 160℃ (320°F), and add Step 2. Deep-fry for about 3 minutes until the surface becomes crispy, then drain the oil.
- 4. Add the sauce ingredients to a pot, bring to a boil over medium heat, and remove it from the heat.
- 5. Arrange Step 3 and pour in Step 4. Add the topping ingredients and it’s ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
We use mentsuyu which is 2 times concentrated. Please adjust the amount according to your mentsuyu. Please use your favorite topping.
