How to make
- 1. Remove the red shiso leaf from the branch and wash well with water.
- 2. Remove the seeds from the crunchy Japanese pickled plum (kari kari ume) and coarsely chop.
- 3. Coarsely chop the red shiso leaf, sprinkle with salt for preparation, and leave it for about 5 minutes, then wash with water and squeeze well.
- 4. Sprinkle Step 3 with more salt for removing the harsh taste and leave it for about 10 minutes, wash with water and squeeze well.
- 5. Sprinkle with lemon juice, spread it on a heat-resistant plate covered with parchment paper and heat in a 500 W microwave oven for 4 minutes.
- 6. Mix once and heat in a 500 W microwave oven for another 3 minutes.
- 7. Heat the kari kari ume together in a 500 W microwave oven for another 2 minutes.
- 8. Mix with salt and serve on a plate, then it is ready.
Tips for cooking
If you want a moist finish, please adjust the microwave heating time to your liking. You can adjust the amount of salt to your liking. By adding lemon juice, you can make the color of the red shiso leaf brighter.
