- Chinese cabbage (Hakusai)400 g
- Tomato1
- Thin-sliced half sized bacon50 g
- Meat Sauce
- Meat sauce200 g
- Miso2 tsp
- Grated ginger1/2 tsp
- Japanese White Sauce
- Milk200 ml
- Cake flour (Pastry flour)3 tbsp
- (A)Miso2 tsp
- (A)Black pepper1 three finger pinch
- Salted butter30 g
- Shredded pizza cheeze40 g
- Parsleyas needed
How to make
- Prepare. Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
- 1. Cut the tomato in half, remove the stem, and cut into 0.4-inch pieces.
- 2. Cut the Chinese cabbage into bite-size pieces, place in a heat-resistant bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 4 minutes at 600 W. Let it cool and drain well.
- 3. Cut thin-sliced half sized bacon into 0.4-inch strips.
- 4. Make the meat sauce. Put the meat sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- 5. Make the béchamel sauce (Japanese white sauce). Melt the salted butter in a pan over low heat, then add the cake flour (pastry flour) and mix it together. When it's no longer powdery, add the milk in 3 batches, mixing well each time. Add ingredient (A), heat over low heat, and remove from heat when it thickens.
- 6. In a heat-resistant container, layer Step 2, 4, 3, and 5 in that order, top with Step 1 and shredded pizza cheese, and bake in a oven at 220°C (430°F) for about 15 minutes until the top browns.
- 7. Sprinkle with parsley and it is ready.
Tips for cooking
Adjust the amount of salt to your liking. Please make sure to preheat the oven before baking. If the oven does not have a preheating function, set the temperature and heat for 10 minutes before baking. The strength of the heat may vary depending on the type of oven and the period of use.
