How to make

  1. Prepare. ・Line a mold with parchment paper. ・Preheat the oven to 180°C (360°F). ・Sift cake flour (pastry flour) and bread flour together.
  2. 1. Cover the bottom of the mold with sugar.
  3. 2. Mix the eggs and sugar in a large bowl until white and thick.
  4. 3. Add cooking oil, honey, Japanese sweet cooking wine (mirin), and milk to Step 2 and mix.
  5. 4. When Step 3 is combined, mix cake flour (pastry flour) and bread flour lightly with a rubber spatula.
  6. 5. Pour Step 4 into Step 1 and bake in an oven at 180°C (360°F) for 15 minutes, then lower the temperature to 150°C (300°F) for 30 minutes, until cooked through. Once cooled, remove from the mold and cut into pieces.

Tips for cooking

This recipe uses honey. Please be careful not to let children below the age of 1 (infants) consume them. ・Please make sure to preheat the oven before baking. If the oven does not have a preheating function, set the temperature and heat for 10 minutes before baking. The strength of the heat may vary depending on the type of oven and the period of use. Please follow the recipe as a guide, but adjust the baking time as needed. If it browns too fast, cover it with aluminum foil. ・If you mix it too much after adding cake flour (pastry flour) and bread flour in step 4, the dough may not swell when you bake it. Be sure to replace it with a rubber spatula and mix it lightly. ・You can make either pastry flour or bread flour. In that case, please adjust the amount to 120g (4.23oz).
