  • Udon
    2 head(s)
  • Water
    2 tbsp
  • Daikon radish
    200 g
  • Water
    600 ml
  • (A)Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)
    2 tsp
  • (A)Soy sauce
    2 tbsp
  • (A)Japanese style granulated soup stock
    1 tsp
  • Green shiso leaves
    2 sheets

How to make

  1. Prepare. Peel daikon radish and set aside.
  2. 1. Grate daikon radish. Slice green shiso leaves thinly.
  3. 2. Place udon noodles and water in a heat-resistant container, cover with plastic wrap, and heat as indicated on the package to thaw.
  4. 3. Heat water in a pot over medium heat, and when it boils, add (A), daikon radish from Step 1, and heat. When it comes to a boil again, add Step 2 and simmer.
  5. 4. When udon noodles are warm, remove from heat. Serve in a bowl, top with green shiso leaves from Step 1, and it's ready to serve.
