- Rice160 g
- (A)Vinegar1 tbsp
- (A)Sugar1 tsp
- (A)Salt1 three finger pinch
- Dried gourd shavings20 g
- Nori seaweed1 sheets
- Green shiso leaves1 sheets
- Sweet pickled ginger5 g
How to make
- Prepare. Remove green shiso leaves stem.
- 1. Cut nori seaweed in half.
- 2. Put ingredient (A) in a bowl and mix together.
- 3. Add the rice and Step 2 in another bowl and mix with a rice scoop.
- 4. Place nori seaweed on top of the bamboo mat and evenly spread half of Step 3 over the top of nori seaweed, leaving a space of about 0.4-inch on top.
- 5. Place half amount of the dried gourd shaving slightly below the center.
- 6. Lift the bamboo mat from the front, firmly roll until the end while pressing down gently, then press it gently with both hands to shape it. Make another piece in the same way.
- 7. Remove the bamboo mat and cut it into 5 equal pieces. Wipe the knife with a wet cloth after each cut.
- 8. Serve on a plate, garnish with green shiso leaves and sweet pickled ginger, and it's ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
If you put too much rice on Step 4, it will be difficult to roll, so be careful about the amount of rice you put on. Please adjust the amount of vinegar to your liking.
