- Chicken breast200 g
- Broth
- Water100 ml
- Ponzu sauce100 ml
- Grated garlic1 tsp
- Grated ginger1 tsp
- Sliced Japanese chili peppers (Takanotsume)1/2 tsp
- Green shiso leaves2 sheets
How to make
- 1. For the chicken breast, make several holes in it with a fork.
- 2. Add the broth ingredients into a pan and heat over medium heat. Once it boils, add the chicken breast from Step 1 and cover with a lid.
- 3. After simmering for about 8 minutes, turn it over, cover with the lid again and simmer it for another 8 minutes on low heat. Once it is cooked through, take it out.
- 4. Once it cools down, cut it into 0.4-inch wide slices
- 5. Serve on a plate garnished with green shiso leaves and it is ready!
Tips for cooking
You can substitute chicken breast with chicken thighs. If you like, you can also pour broth over the dish. If you are puting it in a bento lunch box, please make sure to cook it well and let it cool thoroughly before packing.
