- Spring roll wrappers2 sheets
- Cake flour (Pastry flour) and water mixture1 tsp
- Japanese leek1
- Japanese pickled plum paste (Bainiku)1 tsp
- Green shiso leaves6 sheets
- Frying oilas needed
How to make
- Prepare. Cut Japanese leek according to the width of spring roll wrappers. Remove the stem of green shiso leaves.
- 1. Make a vertical slit on Japanese leek, peel off one piece of the outer layer, apply Japanese pickled plum paste (bainiku), and put it back.
- 2. Place green shiso leaves and Step 1 on the front of spring roll wrappers.
- 3. Roll it from the front, fasten it with a cake flour (pastry flour) and water mixture, and cut it into 4 equal pieces.
- 4. Pour 1 inch depth of frying oil into a pot, heat to 170℃ (338°F), fry for about 2 minutes until get colored, then drain the oil.
- 5. Transfer to a plate and it's ready to serve.
