- Chicken skin200 g
- Hot water1000 ml
- Cooking sake1 tbsp
- Sauce
- Cooking sake2 tbsp
- Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)2 tbsp
- Soy sauce2 tbsp
- Sugar1 tsp
- Salad oil1 tsp
How to make
- 1. Add the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix together.
- 2. Add cooking sake and chicken skins in a pot of boiling water, boil over medium heat for about 5 minutes, wash with running water, and drain.
- 3. Cut into bite-sized pieces and thread into bamboo skewers.
- 4. Place cooking oil on a pan and align Step 3, then cook over medium heat for about 6 minutes until both sides are golden brown.
- 5. Reduce the heat to low, add Step 1, and when the sauce has thickened and coated well, remove from the heat.
- 6. Transfer to a plate and it's ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
Boiling chicken skin once will remove the odor and greasiness. The sauce burns easily when heated, so please be careful.
