- Barracuda (Kamasu)2
- Salt and pepper mix1/3 tsp
- Batter
- Tempura flour70 g
- Water100 ml
- Dried green seaweed flakes (Aonori)2 tbsp
- Frying oilas needed
- Salt1/2 tsp
- Cayenne pepper (powder)1/4 tsp
How to make
- Prepare. Slice barracuda (kamasu) into three slices.
- 1. Cut barracuda (kamasu) into 1 inch strips and sprinkle salt and pepper mix.
- 2. Put the batter ingredients in a bowl and mix together.
- 3. Pour 1 inch depth of frying oil into a pot, heat to 180℃ (356°F), dip Step 1 into Step 2 then add into the frying pan. Deep fry for about 5 minutes while flipping them several times, then drain the oil when the barracuda (kamasu) is cooked through.
- 4. Serve it on a plate, garnish with salt and cayenne pepper (powder), and it's ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
Please adjust the salt to your taste. You can also dip it on dipping on noodle soup base (mentsuyu) to enjoy the taste. *You must be of legal drinking age
