  • Rice cake (Kirimochi)

How to make

  1. 1. Shred cabbage.
  2. 2. Cut rice cake (kirimochi) into 0.4-inch cubes.
  3. 3. In a bowl, mix the ingredients for the dough, then add Step 1, red pickled ginger, and Step 2.
  4. 4. Heat a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil, pour in Step 3, and place the pork belly on top.
  5. 5. When browned, flip over, top with cheese for pizza, cover with a lid, and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  6. 6. When okonomiyaki is cooked through, the pork belly is browned and the cheese is melted, remove from heat.
  7. 7. Place on a plate, top the toppings, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

You can substitute cut or sliced mochi for kirimochi.
