- Chuck roll100 g
- (A)Soy sauce2 tbsp
- (A)Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)1 tbsp
- (A)Sugar1 tbsp
- Hot water500 ml
- (B)Japanese style granulated soup stock1 tsp
- (B)Soy sauce1 tbsp
- (B)Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)1 tbsp
- Toppings
- Young green onion (Konegi)as needed
How to make
- 1. Add chuck roll into a heated pan over medium heat and cook. When the color changes, add (A) and heat until the chuck roll is cooked through and the flavors are blended, then remove from the heat.
- 2. Add hot water and (B) to a pot and heat over medium heat. When it comes to a boil, add udon noodles, heat as indicated on the package, and remove from the heat.
- 3. Transfer Step 2 to a bowl and top Step 1.
- 4. Sprinkle young green onion (konegi) and it's ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
You can use any kind of chopped or thinly sliced beef. Please adjust the amount of salt in udon noodles' dipping sauce (tsuyu) to your liking.
