- Chicken thigh300 g
- (A)Salted rice malt (Shio-koji)1.5 tbsp
- (A)Soy sauce1 tsp
- (A)Honey1 tsp
- (A)Grated garlic1 tsp
- (A)Grated ginger1 tsp
- Starch3 tbsp
- Frying oilas needed
- Red-leaf lettuce2 sheets
- Cherry tomato2
How to make
- Prepare. Cut chicken thigh into bite-sized pieces.
- 1. Place chicken thighs and (A) into a zipper bag and rub it well. Rest it on the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 2. Coat overall with starch.
- 3. Heat about 2-inch of frying oil in a pot to 170°C (340°F) and add Step 2. Deep-fry for about 5 minutes until cooked through, then drain the oil.
- 4. Lay out red-leaf lettuce on a plate, plate Step 2, garnish with cherry tomatoes, and it's ready to serve.
Tips for cooking
This recipe uses honey. Please be careful not to let children below the age of 1 (infants) consume them. You can substitute honey with sugar, but since the sweetness varies depending on the type, we recommend adjusting the taste to your liking. Shio-koji has different flavors and thicknesses of taste depending on the type, so please refer to the details written on the package and adjust the amount to your liking.
